| The Interamerican Conference on Social Security (CISS) is a specialized international agency. It is permanent and its main objective is to contribute to the development of social security in the countries of America, thrusting collaboration amongst the member institutions and administrations, and maintaining cooperation and coordination relations with international agencies. |

| The CISS is made up by full and associate members. |
| |
| Full members of the CISS are the institutions accredited by each country as the representatives of national social security institutions. |
| |
| Associate members of the CISS are the bodies or institutions of the Americas that manage one or several social security programs, that have been created by a National Law, that are of compulsory nature for the population they are aimed to protect and that are not of lucrative nature. |

| The action bodies of the Interamerican Conference are the following: |

The General Assembly, which is the deliberating and resoluting body; |
| |
|
|
The Permanent Interamerican Committee on Social Security (CPISS), which is the managerial |
|
and executive body; |
| |
|
|
The Secretariat General, which is the administrative body; |
| |
|
|
The American Commissions of Social Security (CASS) which are the technical support bodies |
|
to help the CISS to fulfill its objectives. They are aimed to study and contribute to the development of the different programs of social security. |

|
The Interamerican Center for Social Security Studies (CIESS), which is the teaching, training |
|
and research body. |
